 Up Party Ideas

An Up party to celebrate your favorite movie!

Hooray for Pixar and Disney! They made another great movie.

Decorate for Paradise Falls.

Place tissue paper flowers and palm trees on the walls.

Make a waterfall from dark blue, light blue and  white crepe paper streamers.

You can even make the waterfall go in front of an open doorway.

To make tissue paper flowers: Fold 3 pieces of bright colored tissue paper accordion style. Wrap the center of the folded tissues with a pipe cleaner. Then unfold and fluff out the pieces of tissue paper so that it resembles a flower. Place 3-4 flowers together as a centerpiece.

Make palm tree leaves with green butcher paper and tape to the wall with a brown trunk.

Now, for the fun!

Balloon Race: Tie sticks to the strings of helium filled balloons and race them. Just, throw the stick forward and see which balloon will go the farthest.

Balloon Pop: Sit on balloons to pop them. On your mark, get set, go! Who can pop theirs first? This is more suitable for older guests. The youngest guests will be too scared.

Make a My Adventure Book!

Dream Home: Draw pictures of where you’d build your home. Ellie painted their home at Paradise Falls. Where would your home be?

Snipe Hunt: Hide snipe in room and clap to find it. It doesn’t have to be a snipe. It could be a stuffed animal. Ask one guest to leave the room while another guest hides the snipe. Then, the guest who was out of the room tries to find the toy. All the other guests clap louder the closer the guest gets to the toy…I mean snipe!

Design a Snipe: Make your own snipe from pom poms and feathers, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and glue. Set out the materials and have fun!

Squirrel!: One of my kids favorite from this movie is the dogs diverting their attention on occasion because of a squirrel, or whatever. One of the dogs yells, “Squirrel!” and all the dogs look off in the direction they heard the squirrel. Let your guests try this. Any time during the party, any one of the guests yells, “Squirrel!” everyone has to turn and look in the same direction.

Monster Museum: There was a skeletal museum of the many animals Charles Munts had found on The Spirit of Adventure. Make your own unique skeletons with pasta. Use colored paper and glue various shaped pasta on the paper with white glue to form unique animal shapes.

The Ellie Pin: Make your own Ellie Pin by hot gluing a clean glass soda lid to a small piece of felt. Then glue a safety pin to the back of the felt.
