Not
a Flying Toy!
– Make cardboard box Buzz wings and helmets. Just have lots of
cardboard boxes
and black markers, scissors and prepare for lots of fun. Tip: Regular
cardboard
boxes are difficult to cut so have some of them precut. Or, use thinner
cardboard like cake boxes.
Rex
Roars – Provide
coaching for opening the diaphragm and giving a good loud “roar” like
Buzz and
Rex. Who can roar the loudest or longest?
Use
a Disguise to
sneak into Pizza Planet. This is a great photo op for your party. Make
an
oversized soft drink cup with poster board wrapped around two circles
of poster
board of different sizes—the larger circle at the top of the cup and
the
smaller at the bottom. Add a straw made from a paper towel tube covered
with
white paper and a yellow and red stripe from electrical tape.
Dr.
Sid – Collect
old toys, from your own home, neighbors or a thrift store and let your
guests
mutilate and recreate new toys. You will need to supply some basic
surgeon
tools such as scissors and duct tape.
Stroller
Basket Toss
– Toss some toys in a stroller basket as it goes by. Much harder than
it seems
when Woody wants to try it in Pizza Planet.
Bowling
with Mr.
Potato Head – that poor toy is always coming apart in Toy
Story. Roll balls
at a Mr. Potato Head toy and see how many of his pieces you can knock
off!
How
Much Can Slinky
Pull? – You don’t really need a slinky dog for this game. Any
slinky will
do, but a metal slinky will work better than a plastic slinky. Split
the guests
into teams and have them compete to see who can pull the most toys with
their
slinky across the room.
Skateboard
Toy Race
- Remember the closing scene of Toy Story with Woody saving Buzz? He
escapes Scud by getting a ride on a skateboard. So for your Toy Story
party load up toys on a skateboard and push the skateboard on a nice
smooth surface. Split the guests into teams and have them
race.
The winner is the one who can get the most toys on the skateboard that
don't fall off! |
