Set up small displays of toys for the Konishi Toy Museum in Tokyo.
Then, make plaques with
history of the toys. The toy histories can be real--think Tour Guide
Barbie. Or it can be your personal family history of the toy.
Find the Toy Woody
was hiding from Buster, the dog. Play a game where one guest leaves the
room and a toy is hidden. When the guest returns have them search for
and find the toy. For younger guests you can clap fast when they're
close to the toy and slower as they move further from the toy. For
older guests, time them and see who can find the toy fastest.
Play “Woody Says” It’s just like “Simon Says.” Have your guests of honor tell the guests to do
something like: sit, or reach for the sky. If the instructions are preceded with
the phrase “Woody says” the guests are supposed to do it. If the phrase “Woody
says” is absent, any guest who follows the instructions is out of the game.
Yard Sale! Hold
a yard sale with pretend money. You can sell new or clean used toys
with play money you give your guests when they come to your Toy Story 2
party.
Why Did the Toys Cross the Road? Make
a small obstacle course for crossing the road. Then blind fold you
guests and have them try to "cross the road." You may use regular
blindfolds or make an orange cone to fit over the head and face
with posterboard and spray paint. Send your guests through in groups,
2-3 at a time.
Serve delicious hot
schmoes They’re
s’mores, but with peanut butter on them. It’s a graham cracker sandwich
with chocolate on one side, peanut butter on
the other, and marshmallow in between. You can put them on a cookie
sheet and
warm them in an oven for a minute to soften the marshmallows. Or,
you can try other additions like coconut, chopped peanuts, strawberry
slices, or caramel bits.
Role play Woody’s
Roundup Save the little critters (stuffed animals) from the burning barn
(cardboard box). Put critters in a mining cart (laundry basket) or in a cave
(closet) and rescue them. Take turns being Woody, Jessie and the Prospector.
Film it. Then show the film and serve popcorn. |
