Tinker Time - Provide your guests with every day stuff to make their own inventions. Offer any of the following: boxes,
paper towel rolls, glue, wire, toilet paper rolls, aluminum foil, lids from milk
jugs or other containers, pipe cleaners, phone wire, electrical tape,
clean yogurt containers, small pie tins, old CDs, nuts, bolts and washers. You
may also want to include some extra masking tape, duct tape, white glue and have
a hot glue gun available. You can even get old
electrical equipment from a thrift store—just cut the electrical cords off
before using. Be sure to allow plenty of time and plenty of materials for this
activity.
Fairy Wand – Give
each guest a one foot dowel rod and have them decorate it with ribbons, stickers,
glitter, pope cleaners, silk flowers, feathers, etc.
Fairy Dust Packets – Use small clear containers
and layer different colors of glitter. You can tell your guests that the blue
glitter is the water fairy dust, and green glitter is the garden fairy dust and
yellow glitter is the light fairy dust….
Fairy Dust Pictures
– Make art with fairy dust. Use glitter glue for youngest guests or glue and
glitter for older guests. Make pictures with glitter on colored paper.
Catch the Fairy –
This is a great Tinker Bell party game with younger guests. In a darkened room
use a flashlight to show where Tink is hiding—she can’t put out her light. Have
the guests try to capture Tink (the light) and when they’re just about there
move the light. Let them jump around for a bit then let the guests take turns
shining the light.
Flower Hair Clips
– Hot glue silk flowers to plain metal clips. You can use the flowers as they
are or take them apart and relayer the blossoms to make different color
combinations. I like to put a silk leaf in the clip that that any extra glue
will get stuck to it and I can just take it out before the glue has dried the
clip shut.
Butterflies – Sprinkle
drops of food coloring on coffee filters, then sprinkle with water to make damp
and let the colors spread. Then let dry. Gather the center of each filter
together and twist a pipe cleaner around it to make the body of the butterfly
and use the ends of the pipe cleaner for antennae. Fan out the sides of the
filter to make wings.
Hide Hook’s Treasure
– Send your guests on a hunt to find Hook’s hidden treasure. You can provide a
map or clues on rolled parchment.
