Teddy Bear Party Ideas

Host a teddy bear party for honey sweet fun.

You can host a teddy bear picnic party with a blanket and honey cookies.

We love our teddies because
  • teddy bears are for snuggling
  • teddy bears are for parties
  • teddy bear birthdays are the best thing ever.

Games and Activities
Bear Hunt (ages 3-8)
Use the classic children’s game: We’re going on a bear hunt! Everybody claps together and repeats what the leader chants.

Bear Play (ages 3-8)
Provide your guests with a few toys (doll toys) and let them play with the bears they brought. Free imaginative play is so much fun for a teddy bear party.

Musical Paw Prints (ages 3-10)
Set out large bear paw prints in a circle, each with a number. Have your guests walk in a circle while music plays. When the music stops have all the guests stop on a bear paw print. Draw a number from a hat and whoever is standing on that paw print wins a prize. Repeat until all guests have had a chance to win.

What’s in the Cave? (ages 3-10)
A friendly bear has stored away many items for his winter slumber. Can your guests identify what’s in the dark cave, just by feeling it? Make a small cave by draping a blanket over a chair or small table and put a small toy inside the cave.

Teddy Tea Party (ages 3-12)
On the invitations ask all your guests to bring their favorite stuffed animal and hold a tea party with honey tea and cookies.

Winter Slumber (ages 3-12)
Bears hibernate through the winter, but they occasionally wake up to eat a little food. Who can guess what food they've saved just by feeling it? Put various foods in brown paper bags and let your guests feel, but not look, and try to guess what is inside. You can try a banana, an apple, and other foods that can handle little fingers without crushing them. I would avoid crackers and grapes for a less messy teddy bear party.

Crafts
Bear Paper Dolls (ages 3-8)
Make paper dolls that are shaped like bears. Fold the paper accordion style and draw the outline of a bear, with the arms that reach to either end of the paper (the fold side). You might be able to use a bear shaped cookie cutter for the shape. Then cut out and stretch out the bears. Your guests can decorate with markers and stickers if they want.

Bear Mask (ages 3-8)
Print out the bear mask, color and cut, attach string and tie behind your guests heads. It comes in two sizes.

Bear Party Hats (ages 3-8)
Make cone shaped party hats for your teddy bears. Just make a cone with some cardstock and tape or staple it so it will hold its shape. Then decorate with markers and stickers. The guests can make matching hats for themselves.

Matching Shirts (ages 3-16)
Make matching shirts for the guests and their bears. Either make tiny shirts for the bear or purchase some from a craft store or Make-a-Bear. Use iron on transfer of some coloring pages and let the guests color their shirts with permanent markers. Don’t forget to put a sheet of cardstock between the back and front of the shirt to prevent the markers from bleeding through.

Matching Scarves (ages 5-10)
Cut from fleece matching scarves for your guests and their bears. Simple and fun teddy bear party craft.
