My little girl loves wearing green curling ribbon in her pony tails for St. Patrick’s Day. Offer this dress up for your girlie guests.

Games and Activities
Follow the Rainbow (ages 3-7)
Tie together ribbons in the colors of the rainbow and string the ribbons among various objects, a table, a chair, a clock, etc. Allow the guests to follow the rainbow to find the pot of gold hidden at the end. Use a witch’s cauldron from Halloween decorations and fill it with gold foil covered chocolate coins, or other gold covered candies like Hershey Kisses or Reese’s Miniature Peanut Butter Cups.

Find the Four Leaf Clover (ages 3-16)
Include only one four leaf clover as part of your St. Patrick Day party decorations—the rest of the shamrocks should have three leaves. As the guests arrive inform them there is a four leaf clover hidden in the party area and the one to find it first gets a prize.

Leprechaun Tricks (ages 4-10)
Leprechauns like to play tricks and hide things. Play a game where you hide something (preferably something green!) in a room and everyone has to look for it. The guest who finds it first gets to hide it for the next round of the game. Continue the play for several rounds.

Snatch the Leprechaun’s Gold (ages 4-16)
Put three pieces of gold (yellow paper cut from this download) on the back of each guest with a piece of masking tape. Instruct the guests to collect as many pieces of gold as they can. The game is over when everyone has lost their gold pieces from their backs. The winner has the most gold pieces. This was a favorite at our family's St. Patrick's Day party. Everyone wanted to play it over and over.

Good Luck Search (ages 5-10)
Place several good luck charms in the room and instruct the guests to find as many good luck charms as they can. Include: 4 leaf clovers, horse shoes, pennies, rabbit’s foot, the number seven, etc.

Jump Over the Rainbow (ages 5-16)
This game will bring spastic excitement for your St. Patrick's Day party. Make a rainbow on the floor with streamers. Instruct the guests to jump over the narrowest part of the rainbow. Then, widen the rainbow by moving the streamers a little further apart (it will be easiest to do this only at the center of the rainbow). Have the guests jump over the rainbow, again. Keep widening the rainbow after each set of jumps. If a guest can’t make it over the rainbow, they’re out of the game. Continue until only one guest is left. That guest wins!

Lucky Word Game (ages 8-16)
How many words can you make from the letters in Leprechaun? Print out this game.

Crafts
Rainbow Creation (ages 3-6)
Glue bits of colored paper to this rainbow printout. Cut, tear or use a hole punch to chop up papers in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Provide white glue or glue sticks for the guests to glue the bits of colored paper on their own rainbow.

Sock Snake (ages 3-10)
Legend says that St. Patrick drove all the poisonous snakes out of Ireland and into the sea. Celebrate this miracle at your St. Patrick's Day party by making a sock snake. Fill a clean, new sock with rice or beans and sew shut. Have the guests glue on eyes and decorate their snakes by coloring it with markers, or gluing strips of fabric on it, etc.

Rainbow Streamer (ages 3-12)
Give each guest a wand, a short dowel rod. Tie narrow ribbons in the colors of the rainbow to the end of the wand. When done, dance and have fun. To make the ribbons longer lasting dip the cut ends of the ribbon in white glue or clear finger nail polish so the ribbons won’t fray. Your St. Patrick's Day party will look like the Green Isle with all these rainbows in the air.

Party Hat Decoration (ages 3-16)
Give each guest a green paper plate and instruct them to make it into a hat for your St. Patrick’s Day party. Have ribbons, silk flowers, cups, paper, glue, scissors, etc. available for your guests to use. Then have a parade at your St. Patrick's Day party for everyone to model their creation.

Charm Necklace (ages 3-16)
Make a good luck charm necklace for your St. Patrick’s Day party. Use plastic beads or stone beads. Some good luck charms include: turtles, elephants, horse shoes, clovers, etc.

Cookie Snakes (ages 3-16)
Make your favorite recipe for sugar cookies, or purchase the dough at the store. Split into four separate bowls. Color one red, color one blue and color one yellow—leave the fourth white. You will need to refrigerate the dough for a couple hours after warming it up to mix in the coloring. Then allow the guests to WASH THEIR HANDS, and make snakes with the cookie dough. Roll the snakes into a spiral and place on cookie sheet to bake. Bake according to the directions on the package or in the recipe.

Spiral Snake (ages 4-8)
Make foam snakes. Cut these spirals from green or brown foam sheets. Add eyes in the center and pull to make it look like a snake that’s creeping along.

Blarney Stone (ages 4-16)
Paint your own blarney stone. Use acrylic paints to decorate small stones. An easy and fun craft for your St. Patrick's Day party.

Refreshments
Serve it all green for your St. Patrick's Day party:

Green punch

Green sherbet mixed with lemon-lime soda

Green cookies

Potato skins or French fries

Rainbow layered jell-o – Make this by spraying a 9”x13” pan with oil. Make red jell-o and put it in the pan and put in fridge. When it is completely cool make yellow jell-o and put it on top of the red jell-o. Cool completely. Then add a layer of blue jell-o. The colors will blend a little forming an orange and green layer between the other colors. It’s not obvious while it’s still in the pan, but looks great when it’s served.

Lucky Charm Cereal – Yep. Put it in baggies and let the guests snack on it.

Leprechaun Poop - green Yo-gos
