Slumber Party
Ideas
Slumber Party ideas to help you stay up late having tons of fun!
|
A
sleepover party is the same thing as a slumber celebration. You can
make it a slumber birthday party. Or if your guests are very young, you
can host a lateover party. Stay up 'til 10:00 for a late night party in
pajamas and then send them home! |

pillowcase points down so the goodies will fall out
Invitations Make a miniature slumber bag with two pieces of fabric sewn
together, but open at the top. Slip the invitation inside: Don’t sleep in and
miss the party. We’re having a sleepover! Include date, time and location.

Games and Activities Pin the Sleeping Mask
(ages 3-10) Blow up a picture of your guest of honor sleeping and give
each guest a small cut out of a sleeping mask. Have them take turns,
blindfolded, trying to pin or tape their sleeping mask on the picture. Whoever
gets it closest to the appropriate mark wins.
Flashlight Hide and
Seek (ages 3-16) Give every guest a flashlight and play hide and seek in the
dark. The youngest guests won’t be able to resist turning on their flashlights
so they’ll be easy to find. This is a great slumber party game.
Jellybean Toss
(ages 3-16) Have the guests toss jellybeans onto their own pillow. See
who can get the most jellybeans to actually stay on their pillow.
Pillow Fight (ages
3-16) Whack each other with pillows. It’s simple. No one loses and
no one wins but everyone has funs. You may need to remind your guests to be
careful of those wearing glasses.
Paint Toe Nails
(ages 3-16) Bring in a specialist to do glitter toes or simply provide a
variety of colors and tools for your guests to do their own toes.
Slumber Fashion Show
(ages 3-16) Have your guests model their sleepwear. Roll out red carpet
and use a flashlight for a spotlight. Have someone volunteer to be the announcer for some slumber party fashion fun.
Pillow Pass Relay (ages 5-16) Split your guests into two teams and give each team a
pillow. Have the teams line up and instruct them to pass the pillow from one
guest to another, through the end of the line, without using their hands. Fun,
fun slumber party game.

Bed Head (ages
6-16) Go ahead and give everyone a rat’s nest in their hair and
have a contest for the best case of bed head.
Scary Stories
(ages 7-16) Use stories you know or you can get a book from the library.
Take turns telling scary stories. You can even try sound effects if you have
willing guests.
Crafts Color Pillowcases
(ages 3-12) Give each guest a plain white, already washed pillow case.
Slip a piece of cardstock in the pillow case and provide lots of colored
permanent markers for your guests to color their dreams on their pillows. The
sheet of cardstock can be moved around so that markers don’t bleed through from
front to back. Your guests will remember your slumber party every night as they fall asleep. Good dreams!
Secret Message Puzzle
(ages 3-16) Lay several craft sticks side by side so they form a wall.
Tape the sticks together then turn over and write or draw a picture of your
secret message. Take the tape off from the back so the sticks become a puzzle!
Door Hangers (ages
3-16) Decorate these
door hangers. Color with markers. Add stickers. You may want to include a
different message on each side. Cut out. You could also laminate if you want.
Flower Hair Clips
(ages 5-16) Use hot glue to attach silk flowers to plain hair clips.
Slip the flowers off the stems before gluing. Also, put one of the silk leaves
in the clip so that if any glue gets on it, you’ll still be able to open the
clip after it dries.
Make Soaps (ages
6-16) There are several kits to make sweet scented shaped soaps.
They’re fun and pretty easy. And it's a great slumber party craft.
