Root Beer Recipes 

Did I mention my family loves root beer and all root beer recipes? Well, it's true. 

Some of these are recipes with root beer and some are made with root beer flavoring.


Root Beer Cookies

Root Beer Float

Root Beer Popcorn

 


Root Beer Cookies
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
½ cup milk
2 eggs
2 tsp. root beer extract
2 tsp. vanilla
4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
½ cups powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. half and half
2 tsp. butter, softened
1 tsp. rootbeer extract
Preheat oven to 375°F.

In large mixing bowl combine sugars, butter, milk, eggs, root beer extract and vanilla until well blended.

Add flour, baking soda and salt. Beat until a soft dough forms.

Drop dough in 1-1 ½ tsp. sized balls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until cookies are just turning brown. Cool completely.

In a small mixing bowl, combine frosting ingredients and beat until smooth. Frost each cookie and allow to set before storing in an airtight container.

Root Beer Popcorn

6 cups popped popcorn
¼ cup margarine
½ cup sugar

½ cup corn syrup
2 teaspoons root beer flavoring

Place margarine, sugar, corn syrup and root beer flavoring in saucepan. Place on stove and bring mixture to a boil on medium high heat. Time the boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly

Remove from heat and pour over popcorn, stir until all popcorn is coated.

Spread popcorn mixture over greased cookie sheets and bake at 250° F for 15 minutes.  Stir once while baking.

Remove from oven. Cool popcorn completely. Keep in airtight container or it will become soggy.

**For root beer float popcorn make two batches. One regular and one, substitute 1 Tablespoon of vanilla flavoring for the root beer flavoring. When cool, mix the two batches of popcorn together.

Vanilla Ice Cream
Put a scoop of ice cream in a cup and slowly and carefully pour root beer over the ice cream. Serve with a spoon.
