Games and Activities Catch the Spotlight
(ages 3-10) Turn off all the lights and shine a bright flashlight down
and slowly move it around. Have the guests try to stay in the spotlight. Make
sure the play area is cleaned up so there won’t be too much tripping and
falling.
Air Guitar (ages
3-16) Play air guitar, or other instruments, to your favorite
songs.
Lip Sync (ages
3-16) Put in your favorite songs and lip sync and dance. For
younger guests you may want to pick songs in their favorite videos. Older
guests may want to work out a nice dance routine to go with the song.
Karaoke (ages
8-16) Rent a karaoke machine and have fun.
Sing Off (ages
6-16) Split your guests into two teams and have them practice
singing a couple of songs. They might especially enjoy picking songs from a
movie they’re all familiar with, or any other popular song. Then hold a contest
to see which group is the best.
Battle of the Bands (ages 3-16) Split your guests into two teams and have them practice a
song or two using a variety of instruments. Then hold a contest to see which
band is the best.
Music Mix-up (ages
7-16) Change the lines to your favorite songs. Split the guests
into groups and assign them a song to work on. Print out the original lyrics
then have them change the lyrics to make it fun or just plain silly. Have them
perform the song when they’re done for a truly silly rock star party game.
Crafts Make a Tambourine (ages
3-10) Tambourine – plate with bells wrapped through holes around
the edges and ribbon
Make a Microphone
(ages 3-10) Wrap some black foam from the hardware store around the end
of a dowel. Use black electrical tape to hold it on then sing out your hearts
at your rock star party.
Band Banner (ages
4-16) Have your guests make banners for their band. You can do
this easily with permanent markers and a pillow case. Just put some cardstock
in the pillowcase before coloring so the marker doesn’t bleed from front to
back.
Tune in a Bucket
(ages 5-16) Not everyone has musical inclination. Some need a little
extra help…like a bucket they can use to carry a tune. Give your guests buckets
and let them paint or color with markers musical notes or musical instruments
on the side. They can use the bucket to carry a tune or share it with a friend
who needs some extra help. This fun rock star party craft idea actually came
from my father who received this as an award at Scout Camp one year. |
