Potato Bar Ideas

A potato bar is a simple buffet for a light meal. Provide all the toppings listed here, or just your favorite.

This is such a simple meal you may wish to serve some side salads with it.

Check out this link for some delicious salad recipes.

Basics:

Toppings:

  • Butter
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Sour Cream
  • Bacon, crumbled
  • Brown Gravy
  • Broccoli, chopped and steamed
  • Cheddar Sauce
  • Cheddar, shredded
  • Chives
  • Chili
  • Salsa

Tips for Baking Potatoes
  • Thoroughly clean each potato.
  • Cut out any bruises or bad spots.
  • Stab each potato with a knife or fork.
  • Wrap each potato with sheet of aluminum foil.
  • Bake in 350° oven about 1 hour. Check after 45 minutes. Smaller potatoes may be done. Larger potatoes may take longer to bake.
  • Test for doneness by poking with a fork. If the fork goes in easily, the potato is soft inside (cooked).
  • Keep potatoes in warm oven up to 3 hours before serving.
  • Store cooked potatoes, after party, in the refrigerator.
