stripes. Use white frosting and red Fruit by the Foot. Pipe “POPCORN”
on the
front and at the top put some candied popcorn.
Decorations
Use a color scheme of yellow and white with a bit of red.
Try yellow and red balloons, white and red streamers, dangle yellow and
red
curling ribbons from several places around the room.
Use red and white
striped aprons, tablecloths, napkins,
etc., if you can find them.
String up popcorn
and wrap it along railing, across
curtains, from hanging lights, etc.

a popcorn popper – this will be the hit of the party.
You can find them at most party supply stores.

sides and tie ribbons to it, to tie under the guests chin. Hot glue
popped
popcorn to the top of the plate.
Games
and Activities
Movie Making (ages
3-16)
Nothing is more natural with popcorn than a movie. So, make
a movie with your guests and watch it while eating popcorn. Be prepared
with a
few props, but mostly let the guests have fun planning their own movie.
Popcorn Toss (ages
3-16)
Toss popcorn onto a target. Cut out the center of the target
large for younger guests and have them stand a foot or two away from
the target
and toss in popcorn. Lay the target down on a table and have older
guests flick
popcorn onto the target using their index finger and thumb. Score their
points
to determine who wins.
Popcorn
Surprise
(ages 3-16)
Prepare several different flavors of popcorn. Blindfold the
guests and feed them the popcorn and have them guess the flavor.
Pop!
(ages 5-16)
Pop balloons instead of popcorn. Use 9-inch balloons, fill a
room, and instruct the guests to pop as many as they can. You may wish
to give
younger guests a straw or something simple to pop balloons with. Older
guests
can stomp or sit on balloons to pop them. The proof is in how many
balloon
remnants they collect. The one who pops the most, wins. Have a camera
handy for
this hilarious popcorn party game.
Guess
the Kernels
(ages 7-16)
Guess how many popcorn are in the jar. You may use popped
corn or popcorn kernels. Just count the corn as you put it in the jar
so you
will know the correct answer. The guest who guesses closest to the
correct
answer wins the jar. This is a great opening activity for your popcorn
party.
Popcorn
Race (ages
7-16)
Give each guest a straw and allow them to select a popped
kernel of popcorn. Then have them race by blowing the popcorn with the
straw to
the end of a table.
Popcorn
Relay
(ages 8-16)
Split the guests into two teams. Give each team a cup of
popcorn. Have each member of the team take turns walking with the cup
of
popcorn on their heads, across the room, around a chair and back to
their team.
Give them a specified amount of time to get this completed (2 minutes
or so).
The team that has the most popcorn left in their cup, wins.
