Invitations
Make an invitation in a clear CD case that looks like a
pizza box. On the cover write: Special Delivery. Inside write: You’re
invited
to a pizza party! Include the details of who the party is for, the
date, time,
place and RSVP.
Or
use one of these
free printable pizza invitations.
Cakes
Make a round cake and decorate it like a pizza. Use yellow
and orange frosting to mimic the cheese color. Use red fruit roll up
cut in
circles for pepperoni, cut black licorice pieces for olives, cut green
gum
drops for green peppers, and malt balls for sausage. You can grate some
white
chocolate on top and briefly melt under a broiler if you want a little
special
effect.
Decorations
Colors, red, white and yellow
Use
a red and white checkered table cloth with a small vase
with flowers in the middle. Make red and white checkered curtains for
the
window. Put yellow napkins in the center of the table with yellow
plates and
cups.
Hang
a sign that says: Julie’s Pizzeria
Make
oversized pizza toppings from cardstock and hang on the
walls. Here's a pizza birthday banner you can print out.
Costumes/Dress
up
Aprons
Chef
Hats – Easily make these with a 1 ½ inch wide band of
poster board, long enough to wrap around the guest’s head. Staple a 22
inch
circle of tissue paper to the inside of the band to make the chef hat.
These
could also be made with fabric and sewn.
Games
and Activities
Pin
the Pepperoni
(ages 3-8)
Make a pizza
on poster board. Cut
out several pepperonis. Blindfold the guests, spin them around, and
have them
pin, or rather tape a pepperoni on the pizza.
Pizza
Match (ages
3-8)
Print up two sets of cards, cut on the dotted line. Mix the
cards and place face down and take turns flipping over the cards to
find a
matching set.
Make
Your Own Pizza
(ages 3-16)
What better way to celebrate a pizza party then to make your
own pizza! Use the recipes on this page or make your own. Just set out
the
sauce, toppings and cheese and let the guests have fun. I suggest using
prebaked crusts, then writing names on parchment paper next to the
pizza before
it’s baked. You could also give each guest a pie tin with pizza dough
to make
their own. Before baking write their names on the side of the pie tin
with a
permanent marker. Here
are more pizza recipes you can use.
What’s
Your Favorite
Topping? (ages 8-16)
Describe your favorite pizza topping and have the other
guests guess what it is. Play this like Charades or Pictionary. You can
have
the guests pick their own toppings or draw it from a bag: cheese,
pepperoni,
green peppers, black olives, anchovies, Canadian bacon, pineapple,
sausage,
bacon, chicken, spinach, onions, mushrooms. This is just more ooey
gooey fun for your pizza party.
