Games and Activities Tallest Tower
(ages 3-16) Split your guests into teams and give them a specified
amount of time—one minute or less—and have each team see who can build the
tallest Lego tower. Another variation of this game is to have each team try to
build the strongest bridge. You test this by placing something on the bridge
one at a time…maybe cans of tuna. Whichever bridge can hold the most before
breaking wins.
Race to Build (ages
3-16) Provide each guest with their own new set of Lego
toy—similar in style to each other. Have them race to see who can build their Lego
set first.
Lego Relay Race
(ages 3-16) Split the guests into two teams. Have the teams fill a small
cup with Legos (or a small bucket if they’re Duplo Legos) from a large bucket
of Legos across the other side of the room. They carry the Legos across the
room from the bucket to the room in a spoon. If any are dropped they have to
start over. Each team member should take a turn and the first team to fill
their cup wins.
Guess the Legos
(ages 4-16) Place several Lego pieces in a glass jar and have the guests
write on a paper how many pieces of Legos are in the jar. The guest with the
closest number wins the jar of Legos. A simple but fun Lego party game.
Lego Guessing Game
(ages 5-16) Write several items that can be build with Legos and have
each guest pick one from a hat and build it. When the items are complete have everyone
else guess what it is. You can make a flower, a fire truck, Cookie Monster or
many other things.
Lego Race (ages
6-16) Design a Lego car and race them. If you don’t have enough
tires for everyone to make their own car, split into teams. You can lean a
board against a chair or table to make an incline for racing. Get some cheers
and shouts at your Lego party.
Crafts Giant Legos (ages
3-8) Get several boxes of the same size (painted Lego colors) and
build something. When the Lego craft is complete add something round to the top
of the boxes (like milk jug lids or yogurt containers) to make them look like
Legos.
Decorate a Lego Box
(ages 3-16) Provide each guest with a box to be decorated to hold their
Legos. Provide construction paper, scissors, glue, markers, etc. Then let your
guests have fun.
Lego Puzzle (ages 3-16) Let your guests build a wall with Legos, then draw a picture
on the side of the wall. Practice first to be sure you have paint or markers
that will stick to the Lego blocks. When the blocks are taken apart it makes a
puzzle. This will work better with large Duplo Legos, instead of small Legos.
Lego Necklace (ages
5-16) Snap two pieces of Legos together at various places around a
string or ribbon to make a necklace or bracelet.
