Air Bending Balloon
Race – Give each guest a small inflated balloon and a piece of a paper to
fold into a fan. Have the guests race their balloons across the room without
touching the balloon, only using the fan to create air to push them across. The
first across wins!
Water Bending–
Create a mixture of water and cornstarch with a little blue coloring. When the
mixture is just right it will look like a puddle of water but it will be able
to hold its shape for a short time when molded with fingers.
Earth Bending – Make
sand play dough for your guests by combining one part sand, one part cornstarch
and one part boiling water. Mix the ingredients and knead well.
Fire Bending Duel
– Give your guests a one foot long dowel rod with red or yellow ribbons tied to
one end and let them use the ribbons to hold a fire bending duel, the Agni Kai
My
children suggested using the ribbon wands for each bending. Use blue
ribbons for water, yellow for air, red for fire and green for earth.
Enjoy this fun activity at your Last Air Bender party.
Break Down the Wall
– The wall around Ba Sing Se is nearly impenetrable. Can your guests find a way
through it? Build a wall with empty cardboard boxes and let your guests crash
through it. You may need to rebuild this wall many times.
Sokka Invention –
Give each of your guests an invention kit and have them invent something. Each
kit should hold the same items. Include items like: balloons, metal clothes
hanger, newspaper, popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, milk jug lid, plastic cup,
plastic straw, feathers, etc.
Prince Zuko Tag –
Can Prince Zuko catch the Avatar? This is a version of the classic tag game.
One guest is Zuko who needs to catch the Aang, the Avatar. Aang has a blue
arrow (paper or felt) but can pass the arrow to another guest to allow that
guest to be chased.
