Games and Activities
Acting Out (ages 3-16)
Act out scenes from favorite movies – maybe watch the scene, first.

Home Movie Contest (ages 5-16)
Make a home movie contest. Split the guests into teams and give each team a video camera and instruct them to make a home video. You may want to give each of them a bag of props to use in their movie. Also give a time limit for the length of the movie. This is an absolute must Hollywood party activity.

Paparazzi Pizzazz (ages 5-16)
A true Hollywood party classic: take turns being paparazzi. Split the guests into two teams. Give one team digital cameras as the Paparazzi and one team sunglasses as the Rich and Famous. Then have the Paparazzi hide and take pictures of the Rich and Famous as they try to cross the room, or yard, or wherever. The winner is the paparazzi who can take pictures of the most people (not necessarily the most pictures, but at least one picture of each Rich and Famous). The winner of the Rich and Famous has the least amount of pictures that has been taken of them.

Movie Scavenger Hunt (ages 8-16)
Split the guests into 2-4 teams, give each team a video camera, and have them go on a scavenger hunt to make movies of specific items. Pick items like, someone skateboarding, someone picking their nose, etc. Establish a few rules: The teams have to return in a specified amount of time and whether or not the team members can be viewed in the movie. Provide awards for the funniest, steadiest, and best done movies.

Academy Awards (ages 10-16)
Practice acceptance speeches for academy awards. Have the guests pull from a hat what their award is for, best actor, best director, etc. Paint some clean and empty Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup bottles gold to give as your Oscar awards. How could it be a Hollywood party without academy awards?

Skit in a Bag (ages 10-16)
Skits make hilarious party games. Even guests who are shy usually enjoy this activity. Split into groups of 3-6 guests. Give each group a bag with 6 items, everyday items such as a balloon, a picture frame, a potato, a key, a cup, a book, a stuffed animal, a tie, a sock, mitten or shoe. Instruct each group they have 5-10 minutes to come up with a skit utilizing the items in their bag. Then enjoy the show.

Crafts
Microphone (ages 3-10)
Make your own microphone very simply. Just wrap a round piece of a black filter (new and clean, obviously) around the top of a 6”-10” dowel rod. Use black electrical tape to hold it in place. Easy, simple, and now dance and sing and have fun at your Hollywood party.

Photo Frame (ages 3-16)
Pick up a photo frame from any craft store or even a plain photo frame from your local department store and decorate. Use glitter and stickers for younger guests. For older guests you’ll want to include acrylic paints, brushes, foam brushes, and sponges and even some stuff for faux finishes.

Walk of Fame (ages 4-16)
Have your guests impress their handprints in plaster of Paris in a pie tin. Use a nail to write names below the handprints. Allow time to dry while playing other games and then spray paint gold.

Homemade Makeup (ages 8-16)
Create your own custom colors for blush and eye shadow. You can find the instructions here at makeupnotebook.com.

Make Jewelry (ages 8-16)
Get beads and string and all the stuff to make proper jewelry.

Refreshments
Serve buffet style foods. You know, like you’re working on a movie and just taking a short lunch break.

Make large sub style sandwiches with French bread, sliced into 1 ½” pieces

Fresh fruit tray or fresh veggie tray

Take Home Gift Ideas
Costume jewelry
Sunglasses
One-time use cameras
Feather boas
