Games and Activities
Sheep’s Clothing (ages 3-8)
Scatter cotton balls throughout the play area. Explain to the guests that the sheep have lost their wool and they need to collect it. Give each guest a bag or basket and allow them to collect as many cotton balls as they can. Have a prize for the guest who collects the most atyour farm party.

Fish Pond (ages 3-8)
Try this classic among party games. Make a fishing pole by tying a string to a dowel rod with a clothespin tied at the other end of the string. Spread a sheet across a corner of a room. Have someone hide behind the sheet and attach small toys or candies to the fishing pole and tug like a fish so the guest knows when to pull the pole up.

Pin the Tail on the Donkey (ages 3-8)
Yet another classic party game. Make a donkey on posterboard, minus the tail. Cut out several tails. Blindfold the guests, spin them around, and have them pin, or tape, a tail on the donkey. The guest who pins the tail closest to the right spot wins.

Egg and Spoon Race (ages 3-12)
If you can get the eggs and spoons to race at your farm party, take pictures. Most of us have to race while holding eggs on a spoon. Use colored, hard boiled eggs or plastic eggs. Give each guest an egg and a spoon—a tablespoon, a wooden spoon or a serving spoon. Then, have the guests race by holding their egg and spoon in front of them, but not touching the egg with their hands. If the egg falls off the spoon, go back to start and begin again.

Feed the Animals Relay (ages 3-16)
Have stuffed animals or pictures or different farm animals. Split the guests into two teams and give them “food” for each of the animals. Label envelopes with different food: grain for chickens, oats for horses, corn for cows. The labels can be written or pictures. Have each team race, one team member at a time, to feed their animals. The first team done wins this farm party game.

Stuff the Scarecrow (ages 3-16)
Split your guests into two teams and provide each team with the stuff to make a scarecrow. A shirt, pants, maybe a pumpkin or ball for a head and a hat. Give them some odd things, too, like glasses, keys and maybe even a toy doll. Then give them straw or batting or a bunch of socks to stuff the scarecrow. Then let the teams build a scarecrow and see what creative ideas they come up with.

Bringing Home the Bacon (ages 6-16)
Have two packages wrapped up like bacon…white butcher paper that says, “Bacon.” Then split the guests into two teams and have them pass the bacon, from one team member to another, down the line. But, they can’t use their hands to pass it in this great farm party game.

Rope a Calf or Sheep (ages 6-16)
Have a long rope for roping. Have it tied in a loop and ready to be tossed. Then let your guests take turns trying to rope a stuffed animal.

Crafts
Fuzzy Sheep (ages 3-6)
Give each guest a coloring page of a sheep and have them glue cotton balls to it.

Craft Stick Puppet (ages 3-8)
Give each guest a print out of a farm animal (can be from a coloring page) and have them glue or tape it to a craft stick. Then use them to sing the song, “Old MacDonald had a Farm.”

Cowbells (ages 3-10)
String some jingle bells on ribbon for a simple cowbell necklace. It’s not really a cowbell, but you get the idea. You can recite the nursery rhyme Little Boy Blue – he’s supposed to blow his horn because the cows are in the corn. If Little Boy Blue hadn’t been asleep he would have heard their bells jingling from the corn field.

Animal Masks (ages 5-10)
Give each guest a paper plate. Then provide scissors, colored paper, glue, yarn, pipe cleaners, etc. and let your guests turn the paper plate into a mask of their favorite farm animals. Let them have fun. Some may even make very exotic farm party animals.

Ice Candles (ages 8-16)
Provide each guest with an empty and clean milk carton. Put in a wick. Fill it with ice cubes, pour hot, melted paraffin wax over and allow to cool. Peel away milk container. May add glitter or stickers for more decorations if desired.

Refreshments
Fresh bread with butter – Or you can serve anything home made, cookies, doughnuts, pie

Cow Pies – Make individual pies. Bake small pie crusts in cupcake tins and fill with chocolate pudding, chocolate cookie crumbs and whipped cream.

Haystacks – A no-back cookie made with chow mein noodles, melted chips, and other goodies.
