Games and Activities Fairy Musical
Toadstools (ages 3-8) Print out a toadstool in pieces of paper and have the guests
walk along the toadstools while music is played.
Fairy Search (ages
3-8) Fairies can be a little shy. Hide a fairy in a room and have
the guests search for it. Clap louder and faster when they’re closer to it, and
softer and slower the further they are from it. You can have all the guests
search, or have just one guest search while they other clap. Repeat this fairy party game as many times as needed.
Fairy Wishing Pond
(ages 3-10) Decorate the edge of a mirror with moss from a craft store
and maybe some dried flowers. Tell the guests this is a fairy pond for making
wishes. It can be a small mirror. It is for fairies, after all. Invite each of
the guests to tell their wish to the wishing pond.
Fairy Godmother May I
(ages 3-10) Give one guest a wand to be the Fairy Godmother. Stand the
Fairy Godmother at one end of the room and all the guests at the other end of
the room. The guests take turns asking the Fairy Godmother, “Mother may I take
____ steps.” Then the Fairy Godmother grants the wishes, or denies them, or may
even change them. “Yes, you may.” Or, “You may take 2 steps backwards.” Or,
“You may take 3 twirl steps.” The first guest to reach the Fairy Godmother gets
to take a turn being the next Fairy Godmother.
Fairy Circle Wishes
(ages 3-12) A fairy circle that grows naturally is a perfect ring of
toadstools—it usually comes up after a good rain. Make a fairy circle from
toadstools (Ha! Good luck!), or from silk flowers and invite your guests to
make a wish. They kneel in the circle and silently make their wish at the fairy party.
Fairy Dance (ages
3-12) Have the guests stand in a circle, or if there are a lot of
guests do a circle within a circle. Have them dance going in a clockwise motion
while music is played—if there’s an inner circle have them dance in a
counter-clockwise motion. You'll have an absolutely beautiful fairy party activity.
Fairy Tea Party
(ages 3-16) Host a tea party for fairies, with nectar to drink and tiny
bite sized delectable goodies to eat.
Crafts Fairy Wands (ages
3-12) Make fairy wands with dowel rods topped with stars or
flowers. Add ribbons as streamers.
Fairy Queen’s Castle
(ages 3-12) Provide each fairy party guest with a paper
plate and a stack of sugar cubes. Have bowls filled with white, pink and yellow
frosting on the table with lots of plastic butter knives. Write the guests
names on the paper plates and let them build their castles with sugar cube
bricks and frosting mortar.
Fairy Puppets (ages
4-9) Find some coloring pages for fairies on line and make them
small. Then print out, color, and tape to a straw or craft stick for puppets.
You can use any picture of people and add wings made from tissue paper.
Bugs are Fairy Friends (ages 4-12)
Set out pompoms, pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, googly eyes, glue, scissors,
felt and let the guests make their own bugs.
Fairy Skirts (ages
6-12) Give each guest an elastic waistband. It’s just a strip of 1
½” elastic sewn into a waistband. Tie strips of ribbon, scarves or strips of
lightweight fabric around the elastic to make the fairy skirt. Flower Clips (ages
6-12) Purchase several silk flowers and plain metal hair clips.
Hot glue the flowers to the top of the clips. Add a large plastic jewel or button
to the center of the flower. Here’s a tip: place one of the leaves in the clip
before gluing the flower to the top of the clip. That way any extra glue will
go on the leaf, which you can pull out of the clip—instead of gluing the clip
shut.
Flower Headbands
(ages 6-16) Provide each guest with a plain plastic headband, several
silk flowers and thin ribbons. Use the ribbon to wrap flower stems around the
headband. Tie off several ribbons at the ends of the headbands in a bow. Make all your fairy party guests into fairies. |
