Disco
Ball
Invitations
(Groovy beginning for a disco party)
Glue the invitation over the label of a record
purchased from a thrift store. "We're having a disco party and we need
you! It's going to be groovy!"
Decorations
(Set the mood)
For colors use anything fluorescent or tie-dyed. Pick any two bright or
flourescent colors and add bright or flourescent yellow, and it will
look good.
One of the great
things about disco parties is they just need to appear
retro, they
don’t have to be authentic to the disco era.
Try hanging old
records on
the walls—8 tracks don’t work so well.
Hang up peace signs
and use a
black
light for fun effects.
Make
a curtain for your doorway with monofilament fishing line and large pom
poms. String several pom poms on the fishing line, maybe one
or
three pom poms with an inch space between pom poms. Hang
several strings about an inch apart across the top of
thedoorway. Use colors that correspond with your party.
Cakes
(A smooth tradition for a disco party)
Decorate a round cake as a smiley face. Use yellow as the
background color or snake a few rainbow colors along the top of the
cake (put
stripes of colors on the cake and then use a spatula to blend them,
snake fashion). Use black or dark blue to pipe on the smiley face.
Make a smiley
face cupcake cake.
Costumes/Dress
up (Far out!)
On the invitation ask everyone to dress in disco clothing.
Or you may provide bright colored wigs and retro clothing picked up at
a thrift
store.
Provide
tie-dyed shirts.
