Games
and Activities
Butterfly Memory Game
(ages 3-7)
Print up two sets of cards, cut on the dotted line. Mix the
cards and place face down and take turns flipping over the cards to
find a
matching set. This is a fun game and a gift you can send home with your
guests as a momento from this butterfly party.
Pin
the Dot on the
Butterfly (ages 3-8)
Make a large butterfly on posterboard, with several dots on
the wings. Give each guest a matching dot and have them, blindfolded,
try to place
their dot over the dot on the butterfly. Be sure to print their names
on their
dots before playing the game so you know who won.
Butterflies
are Free
(ages 3-16)
Wrap the guests up in toilet paper like a cocoon and then have
them break free. You can split the guests into two teams and have them
race
with instructions to use the entire roll of toilet paper for a cocoon.
Butterflies
Fly
(ages 3-16)
Make butterflies fly at your butterfly party. Make
butterflies from tissue paper tied together in the
middle with small wire, then put them in a bowl and fan the bowl to
make them
fly. Try to catch the butterflies. Then have contests to see who can
blow on a butterfly
to make it stay in the air the longest or go the farthest. Use straws
to blow
on them.
Butterfly
Race
(ages 5-16)
Attach a butterfly to a straw and race on strings. Tie one
end of several strings (not yarn) to the bottom of a chair or other
item. Then
have the guests put their butterfly on the loose end of the strings and
race
them to the bottom.
Butterflies
on Magnets
(ages 5-16)
Dangle butterflies with magnets attached from the ceiling. Give
the guests magnets on popsicle sticks and let them try to make the
butterflies
fly. It works when the magnets repel each other. This is a free flying
butterfly party game.
