Cupcakes
Black Forest cupcakes combines
tangy cherry and chocolate for an incredible cupcake experience.
Items Needed:
Chocolate cake mix
2 cans (21 oz. each) Cherry pie filling
Cherry
Chocolate Frosting

Directions:
- Mix cake mix as directed, except reduce liquid
by 1/2 cup and add
1 can cherry pie filling to mixture.
- Bake cupcakes as directed on box.
- When cupcakes are cool, frost with Cherry
Chocolate Frosting.
- Add a single pie cherry to the top of each
cupcake.
- Serve and watch the smiles appear.

Tips:
- For more tang use canned tart cherries instead
of pie filling.
| Cherry Chocolate
Frosting |
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup cocoa powder
2
Tbsp. butter

1 cup
heavy cream or half and half
1 cup cherry pie filling |
Mix all ingredients until well blended.
May use milk.
Dutch cocoa has been treated so
it won’t have the bitter taste. A natural cocoa will have a more bitter
taste
if you prefer that.
Keep frosting refrigerated when not using.

Frosting |
½
cup butter
3 cups powdered sugar |
1
cup cocoa powder
⅓ cup milk |
Blend
powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Then add butter and milk and whip on
high 2-3 minutes. Scrape sides of bowl as needed to ensure it is all
blended.
Keep frosting refrigerated when not using.
