Make
a Kanohi Mask
– Provide your guests with the tools to make their own Kanohi Mask. Use
a paper
plate for the basis of the mask, then cut out pieces of colored paper,
color
with markers, maybe even some glitter glue for decorations. Punch holes
in the
side and tie in strings to hold the mask on to their faces.
Toa
Challenges (Lead your guests through these series of Toa
challenges at your Bionicle Party):
Tahu
– Toa of Fire
– Make a river of lava with red plastic table covers. Split your guests
into
two teams and have each team build a bridge across the lava with pieces
of
2x4s. They don’t really have to construct anything. Just lay wood
across the
lava so the team members can cross. Each team only needs 2 or 3 pieces
or wood
which aren’t long enough, together, to fully bridge the lava. The trick
is that
your guests lay down the pieces of bridge, walk partly across, then
move the
first piece to the other side to finish the bridge. First team with all
members
across the lava wins.
Pohatu – Toa of
Stone – Split your
guests into teams to build a tower with stone. You could also use
bricks.
Tallest tower in the specified amount of time wins.
Lewa
– Toa of Air
– Give each of your guests a drinking straw and a balloon. Then, have
them blow
up the balloon, tie it, and using the straw, blow the balloon across
the table.
Gali
– Toa of Water
– Play a relay game. Split the guests into two teams, racing to fill a
small
cup with water. They must take turns carrying the water with a
tablespoon from
a large bucket to a small cup across the room. Only provide one or two
tablespoons per team. First to fill their cup wins. Or, time it and
whoever has
the most at the end of the time wins.
Onua
– Toa of Earth
– Have your guests search through a bucket or pile of dirt for a prize.
