It’s pretty much a given that pink is going to be the main decorating color. Pick another pastel color to accent and have fun!  Use lots of balloons. Make a centerpiece with an open jewelry box with lots of costume jewelry spilling out over the sides.

Beautify Your Guests. Apply make up and do some hair styling. Pick up some magazines or books from a library with ideas so the guests can spend time considering and discussing what they want. You may need to ask a couple people over to help you with this process. Don’t forget to paint the nails.

Fashion Show - Ask your guests to bring their favorite outfits for a fashion show. Hang up a curtain (use a sheet) and have a helper do a spotlight (flashlight). Give an announcer a microphone (a toy microphone is fine) and announce each guest as they come out on the red carpet runway.

Make Flower Hair Clips. Use hot glue or use small clear rubber bands to hold silk flowers to plain hair clips. If using hot glue put a leaf from the silk flower in the clip so the hot glue won’t seal the clip shut. Remove the leaf after the glue has cooled and dried. This craft your guests can wear will always remind them of your Barbie party.

Designate a small part of a room as Rothbart’s home and split your guests into two teams, one to defend Rothbart’s home and one to go in with Barbie/Odette and save Erasmus, the troll that was turned into a worm. Stuff a sock to look like an oversized worm, have it in the house. And the first Barbie/Odette team guest to catch Erasmus, wins.

Barbie Princess and the Pauper Party Idea – Make dresses from tissue papers and clear tape. Then hold a fashion show for the dresses at your Barbie party.

Barbie Pegasus Party Idea – Make a Wand of Light for each of your guests.  Wrap a ribbon around a small dowel rod and top it with a ring with a plastic jewel in the center. In the movie they say a Wand of Light is made with a measure of courage (a ribbon the same height as Princess Annika), a ring of love (Brietta’s crown) and a gem of ice lit by hopes eternal flame (a jewel they found with the morning light).
