Balloon Valance

Use a balloon valance to easily stretch balloons across a window or doorway.

Supplies:
  1. Balloons
  2. Curling ribbon

Instructions:
  1. Cut a piece of curling ribbon that's about a foot longer than the space to be covered with balloons. The ribbon should either match the balloons, or match the color of the wall to make the ribbon more discreet.

  1. Inflate many balloons in coordinating colors. Try to make the balloons the same size. Big and small balloons together look a little odd.
  2. Tie balloons about every four inches on the ribbon. Just use a simple double knot around the tie of the balloon.
  1. If you want to follow a pattern with the balloons, the easiest way is to first tie one balloon in the center of the ribbon, and then tie the same balloons on either side, working your way out. The picture above has a green balloon in the center, followed by a pink balloon, then white, green, white and another green balloon.
  2. Hang up the string of balloons with the curling ribbon. You can tie the ribbon to a curtain rod, or tape it or use thumb tacks.
