Games and Activities
Pin the Wings on the Pilot (ages 4-8)
A twist on the classic Pin the Tail on the Donkey game. Make a large print out of a plane captain. And give each of your guests a print out of his “wings”, a pin to be worn.

Jumping Out (ages 3-8)
Practice jumping out a plane for a parachute jump. Have your guests take turns jumping from a couch or chair onto a trampoline or couch cushions.

Airplane Race (ages 3-10)
Have your guest run a race with their arms extended like wings. Wind the race around a tree and over and under various items for a simple obstacle course at your airplane party.

Parachute Toys (ages 3-16)
Toss action figures with parachutes on their back (you can most often find these with the little green Army Men sets). Practice and practice. Then, see if your guests can get the toys to hit a specified target.

Parachute Ball Games (ages 4-16)
Have your guests stand around a large parachute and each take hold of part of an edge of the parachute. Bounce balls on the parachute and your guests can make them bounce around by lifting the parachute up and down. Maybe not quite the same thrill as jumping out a plane with a parachute on your back, but still lots of fun for your airplane party guests.

Tilt a Plane (ages 5-16)
Prepare two or more large wings from cardboard to stretch across the back of one guest. Then split your guests into teams of three or more guests per team. One team members wears the wings on his or her back with arms extended to hold the wings up. Then bend forward and place a ball on the back of the wings. Have the other team member help balance the wings to keep the ball from falling off while they race across the room. If the ball falls go back to start and begin again.

Airplane Aim (ages 5-16)
Provide your guests with paper to make paper airplanes. Then have them aim their planes at a target or have them sail through an embroidery hoop that is hung on its side. The trick to hit the target most often is to not make an airplane, but crumple the paper into a ball. He, he, he.

Crafts
Craft Stick Puzzle (ages 3-8)
Lay several craft sticks side by side so they form a flat square and tape them together. Then turn over and glue an airplane coloring page to the other side. Dry. Allow guests to color the picture then carefully cut through the picture between each craft stick. Now they all have their own puzzle. You may want to put the guests names on the back of each stick, or at least give them a baggie to keep their stick puzzle in.

Above the Clouds (ages 3-10)
Provide each guest with colored paper to represent the sky. The sky can, at different times, be almost any color, so don’t feel obligated to stick with blue. Glue cotton balls to the bottom of the paper for clouds then have your guests draw with colored chalk whatever they think they might find above the clouds. A fun memento from your airplane party.

Airplane Windsock (ages 4-10)
Give each guest a sheet of foam to roll into a cylinder. Tape or staple the ends together so it will stay in cylinder form. Then decorate the cylinder with airplane stickers. Tape or staple several ribbons or strips of crepe paper around the bottom of the cylinder and add a string across the top for hanging.

Parachutes Away (ages 5-16)
Provide each guest with a small action figure, some string, and a parachute. A parachute can be made from an umbrella (carefully cut the fabric away from the metal skeleton) or it can be made from something as simple as a bread bag. Have your guests connect the parachute, with string, to the action figure, then toss and watch them float. If using a lightweight plastic bag for a parachute you’ll want tape to reinforce any holes made for the string. This is sure to be a hit at your airplane party.
